Community Christian Academy and The Master's Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Warriors will head out to challenge the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Community Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Community Christian Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Pinnacle Classical Academy just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Cole Richardson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Richardson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kendell Hale, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, The Master's Academy suffered their biggest defeat since March 24th on Monday. They lost 15-5 to Pinnacle Classical Academy. The Lions have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Bear LaSelle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Luke Pate was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The Master's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Community Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Community Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.4 hits per game. However, it's not like The Master's Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Community Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against The Master's Academy in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
