Peabody is a perfect 10-0 against Bradford since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Tide will host the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Peabody took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Milan, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Tide had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Tide have posted since March 10th.
Aidan Poore tossed a big game, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.
At the plate, Beau Elliott was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Banks McDaniel was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bradford made easy work of Middleton on Tuesday and carried off a 17-4 victory. Considering the Red Devils have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Jax Richardson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Bradford is 8-3 when Richardson posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Austin Skerrett, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Bradford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Bradford and bumps their season record up to 12-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Peabody, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Peabody took their victory against Bradford in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Do the Golden Tide have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
