The Carolina Academy Bobcats lost against the Christian Academy Saints back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Carolina Academy's rough 41-19 loss to Christian Academy might stick with them for a while. Carolina Academy has not had much luck with Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Mary Claire MacDonald was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 12 points along with eight steals and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Owens, who scored 14 points.
Carolina Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carolina Academy will challenge Florence Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Christian Academy and Socastee will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Socastee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
