The San Angelo Central Bobcats will take on the Franklin Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Angelo Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, San Angelo Central strolled past Odessa with points to spare, taking the game 45-26. Given San Angelo Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Odessa is ranked 661st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Franklin put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 66-42 margin over El Dorado.
Franklin can attribute much of their success to Lorianne Bueno, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Caitlynn Clark, who scored 22 points along with three steals and two blocks. Clark hasn't dropped below 18 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maryfer Carrera, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
San Angelo Central's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Franklin, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 22-7 record this season.
