Sammy Santa Ana was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Santa Ana wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dami Ogundimu, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Ogundimu's first of the season.
