Basketball Game Preview: South Paulding Spartans vs. Lithia Springs Lions

The South Paulding Spartans will square off against the Lithia Springs Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lithia Springs took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on South Paulding, who comes in off a win.

South Paulding took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Kennesaw Mountain as South Paulding made off with a 52-28 win. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

South Paulding found their leader in sophomore Lindsey Henry, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 26 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henry has scored all season. Chloe Vandyke was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Lithia Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Villa Rica, falling 62-25. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

South Paulding's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lithia Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

South Paulding was taken down by Lithia Springs 52-23 when the teams last played back in November of 2018. Thankfully for South Paulding, Demeara Hinds (who posted 19 points in addition to eight boards and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
