Shenango hasn't had much luck against Neshannock recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shenango's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Aliquippa with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Sydney Byerly was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Emma Herb was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Brianna Aluisia was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Shenango always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Neshannock). They blew past New Brighton 20-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lancers with their most commanding win of the season.
Neshannock got a massive performance out of Alivia Lambo, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jaidon Nogay, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double.
Neshannock's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Shenango, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Shenango has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Neshannock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Shenango might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Neshannock in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
