Two dominant backs in Gabe Kechter and Stockton Mitchek are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Idalia Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Eads Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Idalia took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 73-6 victory over Hi-Plains. Given Idalia's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Hi-Plains is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kechter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown. Tarek Glanz made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Eads never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Miami-Yoder, posting a 45-0 win at home. Eads didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Idalia's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Eads, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Idalia was dealt a bruising 84-28 loss at the hands of Eads in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can Idalia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
