Freedom barely beat King the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Wednesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Gaige Spano, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep King off the board. Spano has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luke Ledford was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Handville, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Freedom, bringing their record up to 15-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for King, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Freedom will face off against Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for King, they will square off against Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
