The Worcester Wolverines will be playing at home against the Franklin Central Purple Devils at 7:00 p.m. Franklin Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Worcester, who comes in off a win.
Worcester had to kick off their season on the road back in December of 2023, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Sharon Springs Central as Worcester made off with a 56-32 win.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Franklin Central were a bit more limited in their match on Monday. Their tough 44-21 defeat to Charlotte Valley might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Franklin Central has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Franklin Central saw an underclassman step up: Shannon Kingsbury scored eight points along with seven steals. Kingsbury scored a full 38.1% of Franklin Central's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Worcester's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.44 points. As for Franklin Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Worcester against Franklin Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 52-14 win. With Worcester ahead 30-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
