The Canton Little Giants will head out on the road to challenge the Limestone Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Canton has not done well against the Panthers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Canton walked away with a 58-51 victory over the Panthers. The victory was familiar territory for Canton who now have three in a row.
Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Wenger, who scored 17 points. Wenger continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Demler, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Limestone was able to grind out a solid victory over the Dragons on Friday, taking the game 59-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Limestone.
Canton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Limestone, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.
Everything went Canton's way against the Rockets in their previous meeting back in January as the Little Giants made off with a 58-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
