The Northglenn Norsemen's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 49-12 loss at the hands of Doherty. Northglenn was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Despite the loss, Northglenn still got an impressive performance from Josiah'ez Stevenson, who rushed for 153 yards on only 15 carries. Stevenson's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Doherty got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leland Frescaz out in front who threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Valdez, who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns.
Doherty's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Logan Hutcheon and his two sacks.
Northglenn's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.3 points per game. As for Doherty, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northglenn will square off against Westminster at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Westminster has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 118 points over their last three matchups. As for Doherty, they will head out on the road to face off against Overland at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Overland is ranked 76th, while Doherty is ranked 77th).
