The Lamar Silver Foxes's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against Hannah-Pamplico by a score of 40-30. That ten points margin sets a new team best for Lamar this season.
Leading Lamar to victory were Xavier "Zoom" Jackson and NyShaun "Shaun" Quillen. Jackson scored nine points along with six steals, while Quillen scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Quillen also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Nygel Eaddy, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Hannah-Pamplico still got an impressive performance from Mason Hanna, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylin Jenkins, who scored five points along with three steals and two blocks.
Lamar's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Hannah-Pamplico, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will face off against Latta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Latta has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they will head out on the road to challenge Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marion is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
