It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bayside Academy Admirals can now relate to. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (35-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Sammy Dunn threw for 128 yards on nine of 14 attempts. Tait Moore was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards. On the ground, Teague Broadhead rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Jacksonville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jim Ogle out in front who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Da monte Sinclair also helped out with an impressive 114 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Bayside Academy to a paltry 188 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Jacksonville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out four times before it was all said and done. Lewis Bitticks was especially locked on to Bayside Academy's QB and sacked him twice.
Bayside Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Jacksonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Bayside Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jacksonville will take on Bibb County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bibb County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
