Football Recap: Rah'keith Kelly Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jonesboro

Douglas County never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Jonesboro Cardinals as they made off with a 24-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Cardinals are ranked 122nd).

Douglas County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rah'Keith Kelly out in front who rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Kelly has posted since back in October of 2024.

Douglas County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of KENNEDY GREEN and RICHARD DVCE. Douglas County got some further help from Jordan Carter: he picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles.

Douglas County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points this season. As for Jonesboro, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas County will welcome Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jonesboro, they will be playing at home against Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
