Baseball Game Preview: Andrews Mustangs vs. Greenwood Rangers

Andrews has won three straight games at home, while Greenwood has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Mustangs will welcome the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Andrews had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Monahans on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Loboes a 9-0 shutout. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Loboes recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Trace Garica's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrews let Evan Munoz and Daylon Jefcoats run wild. Munoz went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Jefcoats went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was R Stephenes, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Greenwood came out on top against Fort Stockton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Rangers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Panthers. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Greenwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Andrews, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11.

Andrews skirted past Greenwood 2-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
