Mountain Ridge is 2-8 against Pinnacle since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Pinnacle Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Pinnacle is ranked 17th).
Mountain Ridge suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 65-33 loss at the hands of Sunnyslope.
Despite their loss, Mountain Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kaliyahna Baldwin, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Gloria Hines, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pinnacle can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They blew past Boulder Creek, posting a 67-11 victory on the road. The win was nothing new for Pinnacle as they're now sitting on four straight.
Mountain Ridge's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-13. As for Pinnacle, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Mountain Ridge lost to Pinnacle on the road by a decisive 62-48 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Mountain Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
