On Wednesday, Hillgrove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-53 to Cedar Grove.
Cedar Grove found their leader in underclassman Emmanuel Green, who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Green has scored at least 25% of Cedar Grove's points. Another player making a difference was Brian Valentine, who scored ten points.
Hillgrove's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Cedar Grove, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillgrove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McEachern at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Cedar Grove is on the road again on Thursday and play against Archer at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Archer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 841 points over their last 12 matchups.
