The Esparto Spartans struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Golden Sierra Grizzlies had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Esparto was dealt a 74-45 defeat at the hands of Golden Sierra. Esparto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Esparto lost, one person who can't be blamed is Antonio Seastrunk Jr.. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with two steals. That was a full 64.4% of Esparto's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Johnson, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Patrick Bingham was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 25 rebounds, and ten assists for Golden Sierra. Bingham is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bradley Dodson, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Esparto's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Golden Sierra, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-14.
Esparto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Golden Sierra also has no future games currently scheduled.
