NCSSM: Morganton is a perfect 3-0 against Mitchell since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Dragons will challenge the Mountaineers at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (NCSSM: Morganton has five straight victories, Mitchell has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

NCSSM: Morganton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Draughn by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but NCSSM: Morganton were the better team in the second half.

Sofia Poingue and Hannah Xu scored both of NCSSM: Morganton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Mitchell scored the most goals they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Mountain Heritage, falling 5-1. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Mitchell struggled afterwards.

NCSSM: Morganton pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went NCSSM: Morganton's way against Mitchell in their previous meeting on April 3rd, as NCSSM: Morganton made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
