Dixie never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cedar last Friday. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Reds 35-34.
It was another big night for Ran Sawyer, who rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dixie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar only rushed for 130.
One reason for the win was Dixie's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Bristol Woods and Aisa Lopati, who racked up four sacks between them.
