The senior softball player hit for the home run cycle Monday in a 25-15 loss to Hammond (Columbia, Md.). She did the near-impossible, cranking out a solo shot, two-run bomb, three-run homer and a grand slam — in one game. Leslie also tallied 10 RBIs.
There have been 23 perfect games in MLB history, but the home run cycle has only been done a handful of times in baseball history — and never in The Bigs.
Tyrone Horne did it for the AA Arkansas Travelers in 1998. A few college baseball players also have accomplished the feat and Samantha Posey, younger sister of San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, hit the home run cycle for Valdosta State back in 2011, but did so over the two games of a doubleheader.
Leslie is batting .667 with 15 RBIs and five home runs this season for the 2-2 Wildecats. It's also worth noting Wilde Lake was winless the past two seasons.
