North Pocono waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the West Scranton Invaders with a sharp 16-8 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.
Cael Hafner made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hafner was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, North Pocono let Aidan Bassi and Jake Reese run wild. Bassi went 2-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles, while Reese got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those five RBI gave Bassi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rory McAndrew, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
North Pocono was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Scranton only posted a batting average of .185.
North Pocono pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for West Scranton, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
