Bandys is 8-2 against West Lincoln since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Bandys will host West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m.
Bandys managed to slip by West Caldwell the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Bandys came up short against West Caldwell on Friday, falling 7-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 26, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Piper Barrymore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Bandys saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jessie Sipe, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, West Lincoln never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over East Burke. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
West Lincoln got a massive performance out of Kaylin Pardo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Pardo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinlyn Avery, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
West Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
West Lincoln's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Bandys, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bandys hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like West Lincoln struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bandys was able to grind out a solid win over West Lincoln in their previous matchup on March 4th, winning 8-5. Will Bandys repeat their success, or does West Lincoln has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
