Fairfield is 0-1 against Osborne since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Fairfield Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Osborne Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fairfield has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while Osborne will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Friday, Fairfield suffered a tough 46-22 loss at the hands of Norwich.
Despite the loss, Fairfield got a solid performance out of Rex Zongker, who rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Osborne got themselves on the board against Pike Valley on Friday, but Pike Valley never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 68-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Osborne, who have now won five games by 48 points or more so far this season.
Dawson Lantz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 141 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Lantz is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dalton Garman, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Fairfield's defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.75 points per game. Osborne has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matchups, giving them a 6-1 record.
Fairfield was taken down by Osborne 72-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Fairfield, Connor Schurr (who rushed for 48 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
