East Rockingham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 261st in Virginia, while Buckhannon-Upshur is ranked 41st in West Virginia).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-34, which was the final score in East Rockingham's tilt against Spotswood on Thursday. East Rockingham has not had much luck with Spotswood recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Buckhannon-Upshur in a 54-39 victory over Lincoln on Wednesday.
Ian Strader and Jerin Westfall were among the main playmakers for Buckhannon-Upshur as the former scored 13 points along with six rebounds and the latter scored 15 points. Westfall set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Malaki Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
East Rockingham's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
