Basketball Recap: Springfield Skates Past Greenbrier with Ease

Springfield won the last time they faced Greenbrier and things went their way on Thursday too. The Yellow Jackets blew past the Bobcats 56-29. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Xavionna Farmer, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 20 points and six boards. She is becoming a predictor of Springfield's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 11-2 (and 7-8 when she doesn't). Taleah Patterson was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Greenbrier, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

As of now, neither Springfield nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
