The Emerson Mavericks will challenge the Liberty Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emerson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Emerson's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Centennial as they made off with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won six in a row.

Addison Hudnall made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Lauren Short was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Madison Mayes was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
Emerson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Liberty entered their tilt with Memorial on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-0. The Redhawks' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.
Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delila Bond, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Liberty pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Emerson, their win bumped their record up to 15-7-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Emerson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Emerson's way against Liberty when the teams last played back in March, as Emerson made off with a 10-1 victory. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Redhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
