Perkiomen Valley managed to slip by Owen J. Roberts the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 15-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered against the Wildcats since May 2, 2022.
Colin Roeser was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Jonathan Boyd was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Chase Neff also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area made easy work of Pottsgrove on Tuesday and carried off a 13-1 win.
Cole Wellington and Michael Tomsho did most of the damage at the plate: Wellington got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI, while Tomsho went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave Wellington a new career-high. Rudy Wilhelm was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Upper Merion Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pottsgrove only posted an OBP of .136.
Perkiomen Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Upper Merion Area, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Perkiomen Valley beat Upper Merion Area 6-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for Perkiomen Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
