Beech is 1-9 against Mount Juliet since May of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Buccaneers will be playing at home against the Golden Bears at 4:00 p.m. Mount Juliet took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Beech, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Beech was able to grind out a solid victory over Lebanon, taking the game 9-5. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Brianna Buckley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. Buckley was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Beech let Aubrey Bolen and Madison Pinkleton run wild. Bolen went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, while Pinkleton went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three runs gave Bolen a new career-high. Kynlie Powell was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Beech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mount Juliet faced Wilson Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Golden Bears took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. It was the first time this season that the Golden Bears let down their fans at home.
Jewel Hale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chloe Younggren made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Gephart, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Mount Juliet's loss dropped their record down to 24-9-1. As for Beech, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
