After flying high against the Claremore Christian Warriors last Saturday, the Crossover Prep Lions came back down to earth. Crossover Prep had to suffer through a rough 71-34 loss at the hands of Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Crossover Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy is ranked 96th).
Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sheen Saunders Jr out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Saunders Jr is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mustafa Alper Kaya, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Crossover Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crossover Prep will take on Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
