Last Monday, Great Mills humbled Wilde Lake with a 48-19 victory. Given Great Mills' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Wilde Lake is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Great Mills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from A'Naija Bush, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Bush scored 15 or more points. Telisa Adams was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Springbrook had to suffer through a rough 60-29 loss at the hands of Sherwood. Springbrook has struggled against Sherwood recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Great Mills' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Springbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
