The Fort Stockton Panthers will square off against the Canyon Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Fort Stockton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Fort Stockton was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 26-25 to Andrews. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Stockton in their matchups with Andrews: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Thiaraneth Wislar, who scored five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Canyon stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard last Friday. They blew past Pampa, posting a 63-36 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Canyon as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Fort Stockton has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for Canyon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Fort Stockton was dealt a bruising 92-13 loss at the hands of Canyon when the teams last played back in February of 2020. Can Fort Stockton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
