The Spanish Fort Toros were the 46-14 winner over the Robertsdale Golden Bears when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Spanish Fort fell to Robertsdale 50-46.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robertsdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mallorie Rothe, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Rothe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Johansen, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Spanish Fort's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Robertsdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Spanish Fort will look to defend their home court on Friday against McGill-Toolen at 5:30 p.m. McGill-Toolen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Robertsdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Baldwin County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Baldwin County: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Robertsdale has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
