Gage Balderson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Balderson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Hayden Rowley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Sebastian Oliver was another key contributor, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and an RBI.
Basalt's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Aspen, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-10-1.
