After a string of four wins, the American History Bald Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a rough 54-30 defeat at the hands of Payne Tech.
American History's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shamiyah Mubarak, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominique Jackson, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
American History's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Payne Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American History will take on Montclair Kimberley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Jersey (American History is ranked 276th, while Montclair Kimberley Academy is ranked 252nd). As for Payne Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rahway at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
