After flying high against the King Prep Rams last Tuesday, the Hamilton Wildcats came back down to earth. Hamilton suffered a rough 62-38 loss at the hands of Arlington on Thursday. Hamilton found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
When it comes to explaining why Hamilton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amare Boothe. Despite the final result, she scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Boothe scored a full 81.6% of Hamilton's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hamilton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Zaria Moss, who scored 30 points along with five steals for Arlington. Moss continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cydney Hurt, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Arlington, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will take on Power Center Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Power Center Academy's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Hamilton's offense will have their work cut out for Hamilton. As for Arlington, they will be playing at home against Southwind at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Southwind focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Thursday.
