After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saint Ignatius College Prep, The Saint Viator Lions were happy to have found some success on Friday. They put the hurt on Marmion with a sharp 49-27 victory. The result was nothing new for Saint Viator, who have now won three matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Despite the loss, Marmion still got an impressive performance from Joey Favia, who rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns.
Saint Viator now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Marmion, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Saint Viator will head out on the road to face off against Richmond-Burton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Richmond-Burton is ranked 81st, while Saint Viator is ranked 84th). Marmion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
