Baseball Recap: Stigler Has No Trouble Against Hartshorne

Stigler hadn't done well against Hartshorne recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Miners. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Tj Kettles, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Dakota Drewry was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Stigler's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Hartshorne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stigler will head out to challenge Sallisaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Black Diamonds will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hartshorne, they will venture away from home to face off against Kiowa at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
