After losing to Fairbanks the last time they met, Grove City Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Panthers on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jadunn Harris was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Caleb Butts was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Shupp, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Grove City Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairbanks only posted an OBP of .303.
Grove City Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Fairbanks, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
As of now, neither Grove City Christian nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
