The Lake George Lakers suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 43-20 loss at the hands of Hartford Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake George in their matchups with Hartford Central: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Lake George had strong showings from Emily Guidetti, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds, and Sarah Pelchar, who scored two points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Pelchar grabbed two or more steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lake George struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hartford Central racked up 11 assists.
Alawnah Dunda was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds for Hartford Central. Dunda has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Mckenzie Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lake George has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Hartford Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Lake George will head out on the road to face off against Saratoga Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saratoga Central Catholic is on a four-game streak of home losses, Lake George a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Hartford Central will take on North Warren Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
