Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Rutherford). They blew past the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets 76-52 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cavaliers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

East Rutherford was led to victory by Zilah Dewberry and Bella Harris. Dewberry posted 24 points, while Harris had 22 points. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Faith Smith, who put up 11 points.

Bessemer City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tionna Pettus, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 75% of Bessemer City's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kionna Pettus, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

East Rutherford's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Bessemer City, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

East Rutherford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-28 defeat against Freedom on the 27th. As for Bessemer City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-39 victory against Kings Mountain on the 27th.
