Northampton and Parkland are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. Northampton will challenge Parkland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Parkland will be up against a hot Northampton squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Northampton never let East Stroudsburg North get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Konkrete Kids this season.
Meanwhile, Parkland had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Pocono Mountain West with a sharp 13-2 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Addison Fritzinger and Allison Hunsberger were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Fritzinger struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hunsberger pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Fritzinger has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat, Fritzinger went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Hunsberger scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That triple marked the first that Fritzinger hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Scerena Reed, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amelia Dawson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Parkland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pocono Mountain West only managed five hits.
Northampton's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Parkland, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
