Basketball Recap: Grove City Christian Takes a Loss

Grove City Christian played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Genoa Christian Academy and fell 61-30. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to Genoa Christian Academy from their previous meeting back in February.

Grove City Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cadence Randall, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Randall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Karlich, who earned seven points and ten rebounds.

Genoa Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Kinley out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The match was Kinley's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Schuck, who made all 7 shots she took to post 14 points and eight rebounds.

Grove City Christian is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4. As for Genoa Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Grove City Christian will welcome Fisher Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Genoa Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-23 win against Granville Christian Academy on the 17th.
