The Hastings Tigers fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Adams Central Patriots on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. Hastings was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Adams Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Adams Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Nepple led the charge by scoring 17 points. The game was Nepple's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Janzen, who scored 12 points.
Hastings has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Adams Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Hastings will head out on the road to face off against Lexington on Saturday. Lexington is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Adams Central will take on Holdrege at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
