The Laurel Spartans waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Parkdale by a score of 68-57. 68 seems to be a good number for Laurel as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Jermaine Taylor, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Taylor is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Gilbert Osafo was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Parkdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was anuel decker, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points decker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mark Freeland, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Parkdale struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Laurel posted 16 assists.
Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Parkdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
