Madyson Sonnigsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marly Drayer, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Isabella Stout was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bluffton's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for New Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.
