Yuma Catholic won the last time they faced Chino Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Shamrocks never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Shamrocks, who have now won 17 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Mickey Fox made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Daniel Ruiz was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Joey Carey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Yuma Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chino Valley only posted an OBP of .294.

The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Chino Valley, they dropped their record down to 9-12-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
