Tri County Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Heikes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. Heikes hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Belt, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stanton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They lost to Clarkson/Leigh on the road by a decisive 51-36 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stanton in their matchups with Clarkson/Leigh: they've now lost seven in a row.
Tri County Northeast's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Stanton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.
Tri County Northeast came up short against Stanton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 59-53. Can Tri County Northeast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
