Tri County Northeast is 0-3 against Stanton since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Hopefully Tri County Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Tri County Northeast didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Omaha Nation, but they still walked away with a 38-33 victory.
Tri County Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Heikes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. Heikes hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Belt, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stanton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They lost to Clarkson/Leigh on the road by a decisive 51-36 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stanton in their matchups with Clarkson/Leigh: they've now lost seven in a row.
Tri County Northeast's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Stanton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.
Tri County Northeast came up short against Stanton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 59-53. Can Tri County Northeast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
