Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Delta walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Carroll Academy Rebels on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Landon Hoshell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Owens Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Karson Ware, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll Academy only managed four hits.
North Delta has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Carroll Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
As of now, neither North Delta nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
